On Monday, we were very lucky to have Todd, a street artist, come in and do some graffiti art with us. We used lots of different materials like canvases, paint pens and spray paints to create a piece that showed off our fantastic and unique personalities. From the pictures we sent home I'm sure you agree they are amazing and next time you come in, make sure you have a look.
In English we have been innovating our poems and looking at my favourite poem, 'The Magic Box' - it really showed us the power of imagination and how to utilise it for our poetry.
In Maths we have been doing lots of work on the formal method of multiplication and have started division on Friday too. It's been great to get hands on and see what's happening when we multiply and divide.
In Topic it's been geographytastic and we are learning about what the UK is like, what it is and what counties and cities are - we've loved using Atlases and seeing where we live.
This week it's been another busy week! In English we have been doing some excellent work on similes and metaphors and then using all of our toolkit for our invent. From marking them yesterday let me assure you we have a class of poets amongst us.
In Maths it's been a division heavy week but they've really cracked the method - some excellent growth mindsets were shown and from their final assessment today - they've all made progress which is fantastic to see.
In other areas of the curriculum we started Monday off with a bit of yoga, learning about the importance of rivers, written information texts about Repton, learnt about what makes us, us and had a go at Times Table Rockstars - so I think we are all looking forward to the weekend for a bit of a rest!
Next week we are starting new topics in all areas (area for Maths, explanation texts in English and the digestive system in Topic) so it's going to be an exciting week!
