We have had a great week this week. We have continued to work on our maths topic- measures, which we have now completed.
During our English work, we have looked at three versions of a text 'The Piano' we have looked at different techniques and how the authors have created suspense and the flashbacks. The children have written their hot write today, which concludes this topic. I looked forward to reading these.
During our topic work, we have looked at the 1950's and how entertainment changed. We discussed the radio broadcast 'Listen with mother'. We have also looked into Elvis Presley and why he was known as the king of rock and roll.
World Book Day was a great success- some fantastic costumes. We took part in the BBC live lesson in the afternoon and listened to three authors share their experiences and some extracts from their books- the children really enjoyed this. The Badgers have also done some fantastic writing inspired by a picture.
This morning, we had a visitor from John Port (Mrs Golaub). She spoke to the children that are going to John Port about the school and answered any questions that the children had. I'm sure your children will share this information with you this weekend.
Have a great weekend.
