Hello, my name is Miss Jordan and welcome to the Merlins class.
The first weeks back at Repton for Year 4 have been busy and hopefully exciting and fun too!
We started our term off with a Stone Age Day to get us prepared for our trip to Creswell Crags. We enjoyed working on the floor like they would have and some of us even tried to work upside down to see what it would have been like drawing in the caves. To finish off the day we did some cave art and did some hand stencils like you would see in Cuevas de la Manos in Argentina. Hopefully you will get to see these next time you are in our classroom.
On Wednesday, we went on our trip to Creswell Crags and had a fantastic time learning about what life would have been like in the Ice Age. We explored caves, hunted a reindeer, excavated like an archaeologist and even saw some fossilised hyena poo! The Merlins were impeccably behaved and a credit to the school - well done.
Back at school on Thursday and Friday we did some fantastic recounts based on our trip and produced some beautiful Merlin based artwork for our classroom.
What a busy week!
