Welcome to Term 4. This term we are learning all about People Who Help Us. We began this week by learning about who helps us in school. We went on a walk around school to meet the different staff who work here and see what they do, such as Mr Tague, Mrs Deveraux in the office, Tracey the cook, Mr Campbell the caretaker, dinner ladies, Mr Marriott the lollipop man, etc.
We have all painted fantastic portraits of them all that you must come and see in class!
In English we wrote about who one of them is and what job they do.
In maths this week we worked hard to find half of a number, by sharing pirate treasure. The children are also loving the new pirate ships in the small world area.
In Forest Schools we listened carefully for sounds around us and explored what sounds our bodies could make and what sounds the forest could make - such as beating sticks on a log. We then made a shaker using natural objects in a cup.
Next week we will be learning about People who help us in and around the home, such as refuse collectors and postal workers and will be talking a walk to Repton Post Office on Thursday afternoon to see what happens inside! If you can come with us, walkers would be appreciated. We am to leave school at 1.40pm and will return by 3pm. Thank you.
Reminder that next Thursday 7 March is World Book Day. Pupils are asked to come to school dressed as any book character and to bring along a book, in good condition, that they would like to swap. We will be having a book swap session in class.
See you next week.
