This week the Merlins have been starting their new topics in Maths and English. In Maths we are learning about Number and Place Value and will be doing this for 4 weeks. We have already learnt lots about Roman Numerals and how we can use Base 10 to help us partition numbers.
In English, we are learning about historical narratives (which we discovered is a fancy word for historical stories) and we are using our knowledge about the Stone Age to help us. We have done some brilliant work about 'Stone Age Boy' and have been performing these and drawing symbol maps to help us remember the story.
In Topic, we have continued learning about the Stone Age and how the Ice Age came to be using our knowledge of States of Matter. We have also started learning about cave painting in more detail and how they made them. We were so impressed by how realistic they were and realised they would have been very hard to do!
Congratulations to Naya for being Star of the Week and to Leo, Hannah and Corey for getting a leaf on the tree for their fantastic behaviour.
Keep up the good work, Merlins!
