This week we have been learning 'Who was Vincent Van Gogh?' We looked at his paintings and painted some of our own 'Sunflowers' - they look fantastic!
We have read the story 'The Enormous Turnip' and the children have made a story map, following the main events in order. Next week we will use this to write the story ourselves.
In maths we practised our skills in adding and subtracting by using beans, writing our number sentences and started to learn to add on a numberline by jumping forwards to find the answer. We are super stars at maths!
We keep checking on the progress of our bean plants and they are starting to grow! We also keep checking the 4 experiment beans, in the dark and light and with and without water. They seem to be growing (or not) as we predicted!
We learned where clay came from and made our own coil clay pots. They look super.
Thursday was a very special day as we visited the elderly at the Repton Lunch Club. We had a lovely afternoon making new friends with the people there. We took along a craft activity to make a flower and really enjoyed working and chatting with our new friends. We also sang them two of our favourite songs and they said they really enjoyed our visit. The children did so well and it was lovely to see. We may well go again before the end of the year.
Next week our question is 'What can we find in the garden pond?' See you on Monday!
