Where is the time going? We are almost at the end of Term 3 and this week the Robins have been learning all about how Chinese New Year is celebrated. They have made Chinese Lanterns, Hong Bao envelopes, Chinese dancing Dragon puppets and magnificent Chinese Dragons on the creative table. In PE they have danced a Chinese Dragon traditional style dance to the loud beat of a drum. Please see the photos on this page.
The Robins have learned about the story behind Chinese New Year involving all the animals in the zodiac and have re-told it themselves in their writing.
In maths, they have counted coins and found the total of 2 amounts altogether, before putting them into Hong Bao envelopes and passing them to a friend with a "Gong Xi Fa Cai" or "Happy New Year" wish.
Our classroom looks bright and colourful with all the lanterns hanging around - come and see!
In other news, we took part in "Safer internet day" on Tuesday. We talked about how to use the internet safely and that we must ask our mum or dad if we want to play a game or watch something on youtube. There is some information for parents about this under the tab "Newsletters and Information".
We were also lucky enough to be visited by Henry the lamb this week. Thanks to Aaron's mum for bringing him in to see us. We had a lovely time stroking him and we helped to feed him a bottle of milk. We learned about how the lambs are looked after on the farm. Please look at the photos on this page.
Next week we will be rounding off our Yummy in my Tummy topic with the question 'Where do we buy food?' and looking at the different types of shops that food is sold from.
See you on Monday
