What a busy busy week!
The week started fantastically when on Monday we walked to St Wystan's church to perform at the harvest festival, we sang our song, 'It's Harvest Time' beautifully and they did the school proud. On Tuesday we had another busy day with lots of work on subtraction and we wrote our 'Hot Writes' all about our Stone Age instructions, they were fantastic and showed lots of imagination!
In Topic we enjoyed learning about the water cycle and how the water can transform through evaporation and condensation, but we were pretty grossed out that we might be drinking dinosaur's wee! We finished off the week with some work on different ways to subtract and have nailed the column method with regrouping, it was tricky but we got there in the end and the Merlins impressed me with their fab growth mindsets.
Next week is WW1 week and we are all very excited. We are hopefully making trenches from shoe boxes and cardboard and so if you have any that you can donate, please send them in with the children by Tuesday.
Finally, a big thank you to all parents and carers who came to the parent consultation evenings, it was lovely to meet all of you officially and discuss the children's learning.
