This week in Maths we have been focusing on place value. We have been reading, writing and representing numbers up to 100000. We have been thinking very carefully about our place value columns using grids and counters to help up. We have also been ordering and comparing numbers and we have been learning how to represent numbers up to 1000 in Roman Numerals.
In English we have started our first English unit on warning stories. We have all had a go at writing a cold write. We have learnt a warning story (The Canal) using story mapping and actions to help us. We have thought really carefully about the main character's feelings throughout the story and how they change. We have also looked carefully at the structure and the key features of the story.
In our topic we have been writing a trip advisor review of our school trip to Moira Furnace. We have also started to look at some pictures of pre-industrial Britain ready for us to start comparing with Britain throughout the Industrial Revolution.
We are looking forward to seeing you at our meet the teacher meeting next Friday.
