This week in Maths we have been continuing our learning on place value. We have been reading, writing and representing numbers up to one million. We have also continued to work on our rounding, comparing and ordering numbers.
In English we have continued to work on our warning stories. We boxed up the canal, we worked hard to write descriptive sentences about a picture and we planned our innovations as a class. We then worked hard to write our innovations a step at a time. We thought carefully about our paragraphs and what techniques we could use to improve our writing even further.
In topic we have located the key cities that expanded during the Industrial Revolution on a map of the UK. We then looked at some of the rivers in the UK and we noticed that the rivers flowed through these key cities. We then thought carefully about why the rivers were so important in the expansion of the big cities.
Many thanks to those of you that attended our meet the teacher evening on Friday. If you were unable to make it then you can find the PowerPoint presentation below.
