Weekly Update

This week in Maths we have been learning to add and subtract decimals. We have been thinking carefully about lining up each of the place value columns and we have noticed that we can add decimals in the same way that we add our whole numbers in the place value columns. We just need to take care when we add a decimal to 2 decimal places to a decimal of 3 decimal places. We have also been using our number bond knowledge to look at complements to 1 and we have discussed the importance of including the unit of measure where required.

In English we have a learnt an adventure story titled 'Kidnapped'. We have been identifying the key features, looking at the emotions of the main character (Ron) and writing a diary entry from the point of view of one of the characters.

In topic we have been looking at the movement of the moon. We should be in a position to start our new topic next week and some information about that will follow soon.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend!
