This week in Maths we have started our unit on shapes and their properties. We have been looking at the different type of angles and we have been using a protractor to measure acute and obtuse angles. We have learnt to look very closely at the scale and to think carefully about whether we need to use the inner or the outer scale. We have also found that drawing the line to make the angle a right angle helps us to estimate the size of the different angles.
In English we have learnt a model text for instructions, identified the key features and we have started to plan our own ready to write next week. We have been looking at imperative verbs and we got these a little confused with modal verbs. We looked at how we can write commands that include both modal verbs and imperative verbs and this really helped with our understanding.
We had a brilliant day on Wednesday where we were able to taste, design and make pizzas and pizza boxes. We started the day with a logo quiz and we discussed how these are so memorable and how we could identify them even when we could see a small part of them. We then looked at a range of menus from restaurants in our local area plus some restaurant chains. We were then able to sample some pizzas which allowed us to think about what we wanted to put on our own. We all worked together so well and they turned out brilliantly. Well done Foxes!
