What a brilliant end to a very busy week in the Hedgehogs class!
In Maths, we used our base 10s to compare numbers and say which numbers were bigger by looking at the base 10s and comparing them. We used our 'crocodile' signs to compare two numbers and we looked at how the tens column is important in telling you which number is bigger, before looking at the ones column.
In English, we finished innovating our letter of the dolphin colouring competition. We changed the animal from a dolphin to a puppy and we looked at how it changes the rest of the letter. After half term, we will create our own letters for our Hot Write.
In Topic, we looked at the plant life in a rainforest and we saw all different kinds of plants. We discussed why some plants were shaped differently and why some plants were different colours. We had a lot of good discussion about the plants. After half term, we will be looking at all the different parts of a plant and we will even have our own plant to have.
In RE, we finished looking at Christianity. We looked at some bible stories about Jesus and his ability to perform miracles. After half term, we will be looking at Judaism.
A final note from the Hedgehogs' Class, we have started this week to test children on their phonics in preparation for the phonics screening test. In the next coming term, I will be hosting a presentation on the Phonics Screening Check and be around to answer any questions. A date has not been decided so keep up to date with the website to find out more.
Hedgehogs, have a wonderful, relaxing half term, you deserve it!
