We have had a very good week in the Hedgehogs this week.
Thank you to all the children in Hedgehogs and Otters for their amazing behaviour. They represented Repton really well and showed a lot of respect to adults not only on the coach, but to the adults working at Sea Life too. We had an amazing time and saw lots of interesting creatures. We even had a 4D cinema experience which was pretty cool!
In Maths this week we have started to learn about grouping. We have been holding an amount of objects and grouping the objects equally. We have been thinking of different ways we can group objects and we have had a lot of talk about what it means to be 'equal'.
In English this week, each child has created their own story based on the story of the Rainbow Fish. The children have created some fantastic pieces of work which are currently on show in the Writing Gallery in the Hedgehogs class. Next week, we will be starting our recount work and we will be using our experience of the Sea Life centre trip to write about.
In Topic this week, we have been creating portholes. This linked quite nicely to our trip as the children could draw the animals that they saw in the Sea Life Centre. We have some artistic portholes in Hedgehogs and these can be seen in the bay area. Next week, we will be looking at the oceans of the world.
I have attached a new set of words to practise at home. These can be found in the Phonics Resources page on the Hedgehogs class page. There are other resources there which you are welcome to browse.
Thank you for another good week Hedgehogs, one more week till another break!
