This week, we are focusing on WW1. We are focusing this week and the week after half term to produce some fantastic English and Art work.
This week in English, we are going to learn about the significance of the poppy, briefly cover what WW1 was about and look at how soldiers and animals helped in the war effort. We will be producing diary entries as our main piece of English work. We are going to be writing diary entries from the perspective of a teddy bear, as teddy bears were sent by children to their fathers in the war, to let the soldiers know that people were thinking of them.
This week in Maths, we are continuing our number bond work by comparing two addition sentences. We are going to look at how we can solve equations on both sides of the question, then applying our knowledge of 'crocodile signs' (> < and =) in the middle of these sentences.
Please remember that our Topic Homework Project is due on the 24th October (Wednesday) and you are invited to come see the projects on 25th October (Thursday) at 2:45pm.
