We have had another busy week in Eagles. We have thought about the Blitz and how people stayed safe while it was happening, started a new Unit in Maths and begun thinking about the features of a Newspaper Article.
English this week has involved us beginning a new unit involving Newspaper Articles. We began looking at our WAGOLL which was focused on the bombing of Coventry Cathedral in the Blitz. We thought about the features of a Newspaper article and identified them. We then learnt about direct and reported speech and thought about how Headlines are created.
Within Maths we have begun looking at our new unit of work which is Addition and Subtraction. We have reminded ourselves about Column Addition and Subtraction with numbers above 4 digits. The children all worked very hard on these concepts and impressed us hugely.
Topic has involved us learning all about the Blitz. We learnt about why Germany carried out these bombing raids as well as how we as a Country stayed as safe as possible during this time.
We are carefully planning our WWII activity day and will let you know when it is going to be very soon.
The children have carried on enjoying their Music lesson and are improving every week with their musical skills.
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
Stay safe
