Welcome back to you all, we hope you have had a lovely Easter holiday.
This week in maths we have been finding fractions of amounts using unit and non-unit fractions eg ¼ of 20, 3/5 of 30. Quick recall of multiplication and division facts is essential for this so please continue learning these at home.
In English, we have been focusing on using dialogue in stories using The Twits as our example text. This links nicely with our topic for this term as Roald Dahl was once a pupil at Repton School. Next week we will begin looking at play scripts of the same story and comparing the two versions. We will then move on to writing our own plays and performing them.
We have a couple of exciting events this week. On Thursday, we will be having our visitor into school to launch our topic. He will be telling us more about the lives of the Vikings and letting us handle artefacts to bring history to life. Then on Friday it is the Year 3 sleepover. We are all very excited about both of these wonderful opportunities for your children. Please see parent hub for more details about both of these.
