Our first week back after Half Term has been another busy one. We hope you all had a lovely, well deserved, relaxing break and are ready to come back refreshed and excited for the new half term!
Within Maths we have begun looking at the unit of Multiplication and Division. We have investigated Prime Numbers and the patterns for finding them, as well as thought about factors and multiples. Factor rainbows were a particular favourite of the week.
English has involved us beginning our new unit of Biographies. We have studied a biography of Violette Szabo, a very courageous women who was a spy in WWII. We have looked at the features of this biography and built up a toolkit which we will use to write our own biographies later. We have also practiced our inference skills. A very good week of English work from the Eagles.
We have compared the childhood of both British and German children in WWII and realised that there are more similarities than we thought there would be. We have also started looking at Anne Frank within our Topic lessons to help us when we come to write our Anne Frank biographies in English..
We have also been starting to plan our reports on water that we are going to share with the schools in Kenya. We have discussed how lucky we are to use water so freely and how challenging it is to have clean, fresh water in some parts of Africa. The Eagles were very sensible and showed lots of empathy. Well done, Eagles!
We are starting our new PSHE topic of Growing Up next week which will involve us thinking about how our bodies change as we grow from babies to adults.
Our Spellings for this week are on Spelling shed as well as in the usual area of our class page. Our homework this week focuses on Factors.
We hope you have a lovely relaxing weekend and enjoy any fireworks displays you may be having or going to.
Stay safe!
The Eagles Team
