WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

10.1.20

Welcome back and a Happy New Year!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you feel suitably refreshed and ready to tackle the Spring Term with all of the exciting opportunities it brings.

In English we have started our new topic which is ‘Identity poems’.  We have studied our model text carefully and learnt it using actions.  We have also turned it into a Text Map.

Within Maths we have recapped the Formal Written Method for multiplying 2 or 3 digit numbers together with 1 digit number.

‘What can we learn from religions about deciding what is right and wrong’ is our new topic in R.E.

We have also started a brand new French topic: ‘Going shopping’.  We have recapped the names of Fruits in French and learnt how to say which ones we like and don’t like.

Spellings:

Year 3 - Challenge Words: centre, decide, disappear, early, heart, learn, minute, notice, regular, therefore.

Year 4 – Challenge Words: complete, continue, experiment, famous, favourite, February, naughty, material, knowledge, remember.

General Reminders:

  • We are continuing to do our weekly times table practice within class as well as sending some children home with extra Times Tables work to support them.  Any support you can give your child with their Times Tables is greatly appreciated.  Times Table Rockstars is also a great resource for practicing Times Tables.  We need to get on that leader board!
  • Thank you for reading with your child over Christmas.  We have updated our Bookflix display within the library so do make sure you have a look to see if it is a book that you would like to read with somebody at home.

We hope you have a lovely weekend!
