Welcome back and a Happy New Year to you all. We hope you had a lovely Christmas.
Our new topic for the spring is Ingenious Inventions. We will be focussing on a selection of life changing inventions and learning about how they were developed. We started the week by looking at the very latest innovations in computer technology. We were visited by Mr Taylor and Mr Cox of Lubrizol who brought in a range of virtual and augmented reality technology interfaces for us to experience using. The feeling of standing on top of a vehicle in the desert and being unable to take a step forward was incredible! The children had a wonderful time with the equipment that very few primary children have ever seen.
In Maths this week we have been continuing with multiplication and division work. Please continue to support this by learning times tables at home.
In English work we have completed our work on persuasive writing. Following on from our writing to persuade the school to have a pet, we have signed up to the Fishkeeper Fry scheme. This is providing us with a tropical aquarium, equipment and even fish. The children will be setting up and looking after the tank. Pease remember to send back the consent forms if you have not already done so.
Finally please remember to keep on using Spelling Shed to support work in school.
