We hope you have all had a lovely holiday and enjoyed the sunshine. We were ready to observe the eclipse with pin hole projectors yesterday, but unfortunately the cloud was too thick for us to see anything. We did manage to see some of the live coverage from Greenwich observatory. In our science lessons we have learned about how and why an eclipse occurs.
In maths work this week, we have been learning about time including months and the use of calendars. We still have lots of work to do on time and any extra support at home will be of great benefit.
In English work we have been planning our own adventure stories and will start to write them up during next week.
We are all very excited about next week’s science week. We are going to be making various models which use light such as sundials, kaleidoscopes and even solar powered water heaters! As we will be doing work outside, please make sure your child has a sun hat and sun-cream put on in the morning. If you are able to send in any kitchen roll tubes on Monday, this would be helpful to supplement our supply. They would be put to one side for use later in the week.
