What a brilliant first full week we have had in the Puffins.
In Maths we have looked at Place Value and Number, we have used lots of different resources including base 10 and place value mats.
In English we are learning about Historical Narratives with a focus on the Stone Age. The book that we are using to accompany this topic is ‘The Stone Age Boy’ by Satoshi Kitamura. The children have learnt a text this week using both symbol maps and actions, as well as picking out key features that are in a Historical Narrative.
We have looked more at our topic which this term will be “How do you get a Sword out of a Stone”. The children have looked in more detail at cave paintings and begun thinking about what they may learn throughout this topic.
Our Homework for this topic is also now on our Class Page. We would like the children to complete 4 different activities from each section of the menu. We look forward to seeing what they create at the end of this term. All projects should be in school by 16th December.
