We have had an archery-tastic week this week!
On Thursday, we competed in a virtual archery competition where our scores will be compared with other schools in South Derbyshire. We really enjoyed it and we even got a double bulls eye! We won't know the results until the end of the term when all schools have submitted their scores but I have a very good feeling.
In English this week we have continued our work on newspaper reports and we have done lots of work on what makes up the body of the text. We have looked at the orientation, where we would find the 5ws, how to use indirect and direct speech in quotes and today we have planned our own reports to write next week.
In maths we have started our unit on fractions and recapped lots of Year 5 objectives to help us with the Year 6 objectives that we start to look at next week. Lots of times tables practise needed for those equivalent fractions so keep on TTRS! Although, we did come first again this week - so well done, Eagles!
In other areas of the curriculum we have began looking at LGBTQ+ in PHSE, looked at Diwali with Mrs Eaton on Tuesday as it is this Saturday, started music - also with Mrs Eaton, wrote a diary entry set in the civil rights movement in America during the 50s and 60s and in Science we have looked at the scientific symbols used to draw circuits.
No wonder we were all very sleepy in our pjs today!
Have a lovely weekend,
