Just one week to go until Christmas and we are all starting to feel very Christmassy in Puffin’s class.  We have had lots of fun seeing what our Elf has been getting up to.  We have also begun creating our Christmas crafts, we hope you will think they are as lovely as we do!

In English we have written our Mystery Story Hot Writes, it was brilliant to see the different ways tension was created using description of what our characters experienced with their five senses as well as what super similes and metaphors we included.

In Maths we have been learning about multiplication in much more detail - investigating factors, multiplying three factors and learning how to multiply 2 digits by 1 digit - the year 4s have even moved on to multiply 3 digits by 1 digit!

In Topic on Thursday we learnt all about the Druids and why they were so important to the Celts.

We have also been practising our songs for the carol service at the church on Monday.  We have included lots of actions.  We also had a brilliant time watching the Robins nativity on Monday afternoon.  Well done Robins!

Today was our Christmas jumper and Christmas dinner day and we look forward to hopefully seeing you at the Christmas fayre later!  We are definitely fully in the Festive spirit.

General reminders:

  • KS2 party on Wednesday – food slips have been handed out, could you bring in your party food on Wednesday please.  Children’s party clothes are to be brought in a separate bag.
  • Topic Homework in on Monday and the showcase is on Thursday, 3:00pm - 3:15pm. We look forward to seeing the wonderful things that you have created!
