WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

13.5.22

This week in English, we have been adapting a set of instructions to write a similar instruction. Next week we will be writing our own instructions to demonstrate the skills learned. We also had fun on Thursday learning about Limericks as it was National Limerick day! The children worked hard to learn about the structure and rhyming patterns and made up some funny limericks themselves.

In Maths, we have continued work on fractions and the children have been learning to order fractions by changing a set to have the same numerator or denominator. To do this they have to be able to convert to find equivalent fractions which can be quite tricky. Any extra support you can provide with this would really help. Next week we will be adding and subtracting fractions.

In topic work, we have been learning about how mirrors reflect light. The children had fun using mirrors to write secret messages. We will look at how multiple images can be created next week depending on the angle of adjacent mirrors.

You will by now have had my message about our visit to The National Space Centre. This is something we are very excited about as the standard displays and extra workshops we have booked will really bring learning to life.
