WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

14.01.22

Happy New Year! We hope you had a lovely Christmas and a Happy New Year.  It was lovely to welcome the children back and we hope they are looking forward to a brand new term.

It's been a bit of an odd start to the term with being off for a couple of days but I know the Eagles have been super for Mrs Ward, Mrs Frost and Mr Walker.

Maths this week involved us carrying on with our unit on Multiplication and Division.  The children focused on long multiplication and the formal method that we use.

English focused on us beginning to look at our new unit of Stories from other cultures.  We have looked at our new model text which details how night came to be.  We thought about all of the features of this type of narrative and learnt the different parts of it.

We also began our brand new topic with a Geography focus.  This topic is titled “Brazil – Heaven or Hell”.  We will be focusing on both Human and Physical Geography.  We will think about the huge divide between the rich and the poor in this vibrant country, as well as it’s incredibly rich environment, including of course the Amazon Rainforest and the Amazon River.  We are incredibly excited about this topic and hope the children will enjoy it as much as they did our topic last term of World War 11.

RE will for the next half term involve us learning about festivals throughout the Christian Religion.  This week we focused on the different types of celebrations we have, both religious and non-religious.

We hope you have a lovely weekend,

Stay Safe.
