What a strange week it’s been: the first two days at home and then we have finished off the week back at school. It’s lovely to have everyone back!
I would just like to say how proud I am of all the Eagles for how they have dealt with isolation and online learning. It’s brand new and as the first class to need to do it, it must have been a little overwhelming but they did so well and really embraced Teams and were so helpful! Thank you, Eagles!
Back in school we have looking at division and recapping on what they would have done in Year 5, ready to start long division next week. We are really understanding the role that times tables play but also the challenges we face if we don’t know them properly. Please try to get your children on TTRS as much as possible to help us with trickier concepts in maths. Especially in fractions which we will look at after half term.
In English, we have continued looking at persuasion and the differences between formal and informal writing, relating it to our character of Sam from ‘Window’. We have written informal text messages from Sam’s point of view (they were very good at those!) and today we have written a formal letter of complaint about the deforestation happening around his home.
In the afternoons we have enjoyed looking at some of the presentations created over home learning, got very sweaty doing circuits in PE and looked at how fossils are formed in Science.
See you for our final week before half term on Monday!
