WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

16.10.20

We have had a super week in Squirrels learning lots of new things. In topic work and science we have been researching zoo animals and finding out about animal skeletons.

In English, we have been writing a letter of complaint about a bad day out. The children have learned how to identify the main things they are complaining about; give details and examples to support their points and explain what they would like to be done. Today we are starting to look at fact files ready to create our own next week.

In Maths, we have mainly been focussing on subtraction and children can now complete subtractions as far as 3 digits subtract 2 digits crossing into hundreds. Next week we will be looking at a mixture of addition and subtraction. Now most children are secure with 2,5 and 10 times tables, we are moving on to focus mainly on the 3 times table. Please continue to help your child at home as the extra work you do really shines through in your child’s scores and more importantly, their confidence.

Finally, a big thank you to those of you I have spoken to on the phone this week. I look forward to talking to remaining parents next week.
