WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

1.7.22

In topic work this week, children have been completing research about Thomas Edison and the invention of the light bulb. Next week, we are going to start making a kaleidoscope. For this the children are going to need a cardboard tube such as from the inside of a kitchen roll. It would be really helpful if you could send 1 or two of these into school if possible please.

In English, we have completed writing our adventure stories. We have been really impressed by the work the children have done, taking on board the skills we have taught them about creating suspense in different ways. Next week, we will be starting some work on speech and play writing.

In maths, we have been learning about elements of shape such as angle, horizontal and vertical lines. Next week we will also learn about parallel and perpendicular lines.

Sports day is fast approaching. The children have picked races they would like to be in on the day. The will also take part in a round robin of field events. To help identify houses, could you please send your child with a t-shirt in their house colour on that day if possible.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.
