Red Nose Day

What a very busy week we have had this week!

This week in English we have done lots of work looking at different sentence types and how to create them using conjunctions of various sorts and subordinating clauses. They showed they had really taken this knowledge on board when they came to write a piece about houses in Sweden yesterday. The skills had transferred so the finished work was of really good quality. Next week we will be planning and writing our own recounts. Please have a recap of year 1 / 2 and 3 /4 spellings as we will be assessing these next week.

In maths this week, we have completed our work on length by focussing largely on measuring and calculating perimeter. The children have learned to work out missing length by looking at opposite sides in rectangles. They have also investigated the correlation between perimeters and areas. Next week we will be starting work on fractions and also starting some assessment work.

For part of our science week work, we have learned about what a scientist is and how diverse the job and the scientist can be.

The children all looked wonderful today for Red Nose Day. Thank you all very much for your donations of money and cakes to sell. We learned a little about how the money is used whilst having fun.
