This week has been filled with Brasilia, planning our creation stories and dividing!
In Maths, we have been looking at division and building up to short division. We have looked at the process where we don't exchange and then exchanging. Next week we will look at remainders and applying our multiplication and division to problem solving. We have also been completing some assessments to look at what we need a bit more revision on in the future and they all tried very hard.
In English, we have also completed a reading and grammar assessment as well as continuing our stories from different cultures. We have been busy practising direct speech, describing the Brazilian rainforest, creating a double page plan and then a formal plan that we will follow next week. Some fab ideas that are full of creativity and imagination!
In Topic, we visited Brasilia through the power of Google Maps and visited some landmarks. Then, we looked at physical geography and the parts of a river. Next week we will compare the Amazon river to the Thames.
In Science we learnt about how plants reproduce; in PE we focused on rolls and putting these in a small sequence; in Computing we started to look at Scratch and how to add musical elements; in Music we practised our songs for the concert a week on Tuesday and in PSHE we looked at the changes from the moment we started growing in the womb to old age. They also had a fun Thursday afternoon with Mrs Ward learning French and thinking about the five pillars of Islam in RE.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mrs Cotton and the Eagles
