This week has been a very busy week in Badgers. I think it's been a bit of a shock to some children, but everyone has risen to the challenge!
In our English work, we have focussed a lot on techniques that make our writing more interesting for the audience. You may have heard your child talk about 'A Carp Pie' this is the acronym that we use to help the children remember different techniques- they should be able to tell you about it! Everyone's writing was much improved after using these techniques.
During our Maths work, we have been working a lot on rounding numbers to the nearest 1000, 10000, 100000 and million. We also looked at explaining the reasoning when solving problems. Towards the end of the week, we have focussed on negative numbers, we spoke about temperature and bank accounts to relate this to the real world.
During our afternoon sessions we have found out a lot about Ellen MacArthur and her trip, it is amazing to find out what challenges she faced!
Our computing topic for this half term is about ESafety and we had our first session about this on Wednesday, where we focussed on cyberbullying and gave advice for different scenarios. The children all had great responses.
Thank you to those of you that attended the 'Meet the Teacher' evening yesterday. We hope you found it useful. For those of you that couldn't attend, I have uploaded the presentation to our class page!
Another great week of learning Badgers!
