WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

23.10.20

Well here we are at the end of the first half term in year 3! We are so proud of how the children have adapted to the new ways of working in school and the fantastic work they have done since they have been back.

In English this week, we have been writing our own fact files about Orang-utans. Today as part of black history month, we have worked with a friend to use our research skills to find out about Sir Lenny Henry and create a colourful and informative fact sheet.

In Maths this week, we have consolidated some of our work on addition and subtraction and applied it to problem solving. This is quite a big step as it requires the children to read and understand questions so they can pick out the relevant information and decide on the correct calculations. This is something that is really helpful to work on at home as part of everyday life.

After the holiday we will be continuing work related to the zoo including looking at where animals come from, in particular the rainforest. Our science work will also start to move on to look at growth of plants.

We hope you all have a fantastic holiday and look forward to seeing you all soon.
