It was lovely to be back with the children this week. Thank you for your kind messages, I feel much better now.
Thank you all for your time during our parent consultation meetings. Your input is invaluable to help your children make the progress they are capable of, and for us to understand them better. If you ever have any questions or need to let us know something, please pop a note in their books, catch us at home time or drop us a quick email.
This week we have started learning a story from another culture and we have thought about the kinds of things we will include in these stories. Next week we will begin to alter the story a little to include some new ideas to make a slightly different story. In our grammar and punctuation lessons, we have been focussing on using correct punctuation for speech. As you are reading, please look for the way speech is used and talk about the punctuation.
In maths this week, we have been looking at multiplication and division for 2,5,10 and 3. Next week we will continue with 3 and move on to 4. The following week we will be onto the 8 times table. Please continue to work with your children on times tables building up speed and confidence of instant recall.
In our topic work, we have learned about Viking food, dress and jewellery this week. Next week, we will also start to learn about life for children and Viking games.
We will be starting some Christmas crafts shortly. If you have an odd ball of white wool you could spare, this would be helpful. Thank you.
