We have had a busy week in English starting to learn about diary writing. The children have learned a short example diary entry and identified the key features. Next week we will start to write a diary together based on the one we have learned.
In maths we have been learning about 24-hour clock and working out durations of time. This has been a tricky task as time is an area that needs lots of practise. Your help with this at home is very much appreciated and helps your child in class.
Next Tuesday, we will be having our class sports day. Please send your child in their kit with a sun hat, drink and sun-cream applied in the morning. Sadly, we are unable to invite parents in to watch this year.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to do our normal class swap day due to current restrictions, but we are hoping to arrange for your child to meet their new teacher outside for a short time next week.
Finally, some exciting news! On Thursday next week we will be visiting St Wystan’s Church for the morning. We will be learning about the stained-glass windows and doing some drawing. The children will need to take their snack and water-bottle with them in an appropriate small bag. Please also ensure they have a sun-hat and cream applied and suitable footwear and waterproof if it looks like rain. We will be back at school in time for lunch.
