WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

3.3.23

Welcome back, we hope you had a lovely half term.

Although this has been a very unusual week, we have packed in lots of fantastic learning!

To link our work on diary writing and our guided reading book, we wrote a diary entry from the point of view of Babe the Sheep Pig. The children were really good at putting themselves in a character’s shoes and using all of the diary features we have learned about.

Yesterday, it was lovely to see all of the children in their fantastic costumes. As well as our writing, we also read with volunteers, designed book covers and read with teachers throughout school.

Next week, we will be starting to look at newspaper reports in English. In Maths we will begin work on fractions. We will also be doing some assessment work during next week to look at the progress children are making. This is nothing for children to worry about, they should think of it as a chance to shine!

As a final note, the spellings on Spelling Shed, occasionally give slightly different spelling words to the school lists. They should still be the same spelling pattern and it is the school lists they will be tested on.
