Well, the Squirrels have had another brilliant week this week.
In English, we have begun our new topic: Instructions. The children have been reading the book “How to Wash a Woolly Mammoth”. We have learnt the text this week by creating our symbol maps and retelling the story using actions. We have also been thinking about how important it is for instructions to be clear, detailed and include all of the features that we have been looking at.
Within Maths, both Year 3 and Year 4 have been looking at negative numbers. We have also looked at Roman numerals, (up to 12 for Year 3 and up to 100 for Year 4).
Our topic lessons this week have been linked to Geography, we have been looking at where early humans settled around the world.
We regret that we had to cancel swimming last minute this week. We were keeping a very close eye on the forecast (which was swinging between light rain and very heavy rain) but unfortunately the final check indicated that we would get very wet on the walk back to school, which, combined with the conditions of the roads and paths, after the downpour on Tuesday morning, meant we took the decision not to go. We really hope that’s the last of the torrential rain on Tuesday mornings!

Year 4 - prefix 'sub': submarine, subject, subway, submerge, subtropical, subdivide, subheading, substandard, subtitle, submit.
