WE RESPECT, WE TAKE PRIDE, WE SUCCEED

4.11.22

We have had a very busy first week back.

In English, we have started work on a unit of “Stories from other cultures”. We have learned the text and found out about features we would expect to see such as details that show the story is set in another country. We have also covered work on compound sentences and using the conjunctions for, and, nor, but, or, yet and so. Next week, we will start to adapt the story to make our own version. We will also be looking at the use of speech, so please look out for this as you are reading together at home.

In maths, we have been adding and subtracting using column method, including crossing between the columns. The homework this week will help to reinforce these skills.

In topic work, we have been making Roman style mosaics. The children really enjoyed this.

You will shortly be getting a consent form for your child to go for a one- off swimming session at Repton pool during the school day during the week beginning 14th November. This is kindly being offered by Repton School and will be very well staffed by their specialist PE staff. All the details we need will be on the form.
