This week in maths we have been learning about using money. Some of the children have found this quite challenging. To help your child consolidate this work, it would be really helpful if you could use some coins at home and perhaps make a play shop. Next week we are moving on to a unit of statistics and we will be reading and making tally chart, pictograms and bar charts.
In English, we are completing our work on explanation text. The children have written explanations of how their ‘Get you up machines’ work! They had lots of fun designing these and thinking about all the things they can do.
In our topic work this week, we have learned about rivers, mountains and weather in Sweden. They have also learned about the water cycle. We are now really looking forward to our trip next Thursday.
Thank you all for your payments and completing contact details etc. The whole visit will take part within normal school hours and children should wear school uniform as normal. They will need to bring a packed lunch with them on this day but will not need book bags. IKEA have offered to provide healthy snacks and drinks for the break.
