We have had a great week learning our new text in English, which is an historical narrative. The children worked hard to create symbols and actions to help them remember the story. We have then gone on to analyse the features used and started to create our own story by slightly altering the original. Next week we will be looking at some of the grammatical structure used in more detail.
In Maths, we have been adding and subtracting numbers using diagrams to explain as we move to more formal methods. Please remember to keep up the times tables work to support your child in class.
In our topic work, we finished our Anglo- Saxon houses and created a whole village! We have now started to learn about the jobs people did and how these compare to jobs today. Next week we will also learn about artefacts that give us evidence.
We have been very proud of the way your children have been learning the songs that they will perform at church on the 16th October. If you have not sent your reply slip back, could you please do so this on Monday. You will be sent some more details during the week, but a quick heads-up, we are asking all of the children to wear school uniform that evening.
Have a lovely weekend!
