Our first complete week in the Merlin class! We have settled down well back into routine and have started all of our new topics across the curriculum.
In English we are looking at historical narratives and reading a story all about a boy who gets transported back into the Stone Age. We've been acting it out, sequencing text maps and finding the toolkit of what makes a great historical narrative.
In Topic we have been focussing our work on cave paintings, researching where they have been found and drawing our own!
We have settled down well in Maths and have been counting in multiples of 100 and 50 for Year 3 and 1000 and 25 for Year 4. We've also been doing some work on Place Value and representing numbers in different ways.
With Mrs Ward on Monday they have started their work on Judaism and will be studying this amazing religion for the next few weeks.
Spelling Shed/Maths Shed logins have now been handed out along with the homework menu and topic map. We hope you can make it to our 'Meet the Teachers' night on Tuesday but if you can't make it please don't worry, all the information will be on the website and you can grab us on the playground to answer any questions.
Lastly, a reminder that swimming will start on Tuesday for Year 3s. They need to bring a swimming kit including a towel and swimming costume. Hats are optional and goggles need to have been agreed by a parent/guardian on the letter that was handed out before the summer holidays. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to come and find one of the Year 3/4 team.
