What a busy busy, busy third week!
In English we have been learning about lots of important grammatical features that can help us with our writing. We've worked really hard on adding fronted adverbials, adjectives and expanded noun phrases to give more information for the reader. Then we have innovated the original text by changing how the character enters the Stone Age and written the new text as a class.
In Maths we have been continuing our work on place value and have rounded, found 10, 100 and 1,000 more, used number lines and used part whole models to partition numbers - an extremely busy week! They have worked really hard however and persisted with some tricky questions, well done!
In Topic, we have used mixed media to recreate cave paintings (sorry about the charcoal covered children on Wednesday) and in computing we have started our unit on Scratch. They also continued their work on Judaism with Mrs Ward and started learning Mamma Mia on Charanga.
Thank you for all who attended the Meet the Teachers night on Tuesday but don't worry if you couldn't make it or would like to check details again, the powerpoint is on the main part of our webpage.
Finally, we all enjoyed the Fun Run this afternoon and thank you to everyone who helped collect sponsor money. The children have another week to gather any left over amounts and then we will let you know the total very soon.
Have a lovely weekend,
