Week 4
This week we have been finishing up our unit all about historical narratives. They have been writing up their hot writes and done an amazing job. Today we have been writing them up in our neatest writing to put them on our writing wall. Next time you come into the classroom please make sure you have a look.
In Maths we are three quarters of the way through our unit on place value and we've been doing lots of work on rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and for the year 4s - 1000s! We have also done a great job of ordering and comparing numbers.
On Tuesday, I was on a course but the children really enjoyed having Mrs Wordsworth. They did some fab creative writing to enter into this year's Repton Literary Festival. A year 3 and year 4 entry have gone for judging so hopefully we are successful!
In Topic we have looked at where Neanderthals would have came from and named the continents. This then helped us on Thursday when it was European Day of Languages and we look closely at the country of Sweden. We learnt some key phrases, why don't you ask them their favourites? We did lots of research about what life is like there and even listened to a bit of ABBA! Thank you Charlie for bringing in the CD!
A reminder that coats need to start coming into school now as the weather is starting to turn cold and especially for the Year 3s on Tuesdays as it's their swimming day.
