Our penultimate week until our first half term break in the Merlin class and what a busy and fantastic one it’s been.
On Monday morning, we really enjoyed our trip down to St Wystan’s to take part in our annual harvest festival. The Merlins sang beautifully and did the school and myself very proud. Well done!
We are well into our addition and subtraction unit now and we have ben doing lotss of work on addition and seeing what happens when we exchange. We’ve used counters to explore the process and have a gained a good understanding to help us when it comes to column addition!
In English we have written our hot writes for our own instructions, edited and presented them beautifully for the writing wall. I am so impressed with their use of the toolkit and what pride they are taking in their presentation – keep it up!
In Topic we have been learning about how they would have lived in the Stone Age and especially the houses they would have lived in. We were all surprised at some of the houses in the neolithic period- not too dissimilar to our modern day houses!
Have a brilliant weekend,
Miss Jordan
