This week we made bread rolls. The children all took turns to help mix the ingredients together, knead the dough and then shape them into individual rolls. We talked about how we needed to leave the dough to rise or "prove" at different times and they enjoyed seeing how the dough increased in size during this period. We learned that the ingredient which made the dough rise was the yeast. Finally we baked the bread rolls in the oven and they made the classroom smell lovely! We then enjoyed eating them the following day when they had cooled down. They were delicious and everyone ate them all up!
