Floating Egg Experiment
We placed two eggs in separate containers in water. We noticed that they sank to the bottom. We then made one egg float by adding salt to the water. The children were fascinated as they watched the egg start to float. We learned that the salt makes the water more dense and therefore can support the egg suspended in the water. The children also learned the new vocabulary "dissolve" and "dense" and used the vocabulary of floating and sinking. .
