Welcome back everyone. We would like to say how well the children have settled into class this week. All of the adults in the classroom have been very impressed.
This week we have spent two days completing getting to know me activities (one with Miss Hobbs and one with Mrs Pushkarich) establishing rules and expectations in Ravens. The children have written applications for jobs in the classroom and these have been distributed out. Today was the first day of the children undertaking their new roles, and they have done a great job already.
We have told the children that we will be choosing house captains in a couple of weeks, and we are using this time to look for good role models.
Aswell as completing these activities, we have also started our new topics. In English we are working on a video clip 'The Lighthouse' . The children have enjoyed this so far, especially text mapping! In Maths, our first topic is place value, the children have been partitioning and working with numbers to one million. A great start!
Miss Hobbs has started our topic 'What did the Romans ever do for me'. Everyone has created some lovely mosaics. We have also started our PSHE topic 'Drug Education'.
We look forward to meeting you on Tuesday after school for our 'Meet the Teacher' evening after school.
