Phonics
As with yesterday, today's learning is split into several small chunks. Please do as much or as little as you are able.
1. Please play "Pirates Treasure" on Phonics play. This will help your child to read words containing different sounds. Some words are real (put in the treasure chest), some are not real (put in the bin). Please choose the level your child is working at. (phase 2, 3 or 4)

2. Show your child the sheet containing the trigraphs igh, air and ear. (A trigraph is three letters that make one sound). Recall the sound that each trigraph makes. Keep these trigraphs displayed for your child to refer to during this task. Look at the sheet of words "ear, igh, air words to write" (attached). Read each word out loud and ask your child to write it down. They can look at the trigraphs displayed to help them choose the correct one for their word.
You can write the words on the sheet provided or you can use a white board or chalk baord and rub them out each time.
3. Read the sentences. These sentences have been selected as they have words containing the three trigraphs we have been practising.
