At the beginning of the Autumn term, we will focus on consolidating and developing children's understanding of place value in Maths. They will be introduced to new vocabulary and will have access to a range of resources in order to support their learning.
Following on from this, children will use both mental and written methods when working on topics of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. They should be encouraged to consider the most efficient method when solving a range of problems, as well as provide strong reasoning for their choices and explanations.
It is vital that children maintain a quick recall of their times tables as this will enable them to make stronger links across other areas within Maths.
