At Repton Primary School, our PE lessons follow a scheme of learning called Real PE. We aim to instil a positive attitude towards PE and physical activity and believe Real PE provides the platform to achieve this. The core value of Real PE is to give every child the physical literacy, emotional and creative thinking skills to achieve in PE and sport, and across the curriculum.
Real PE is aligned to the National Curriculum and focuses on the development of the three fundamental movement skills of a child’s development: agility, balance and coordination. Real PE allows for the progression of skills to be practiced before applying to traditional and non-traditional games and encourages healthy competition and cooperative learning through an inclusive approach to teaching PE.
